In May, I gave a family from my church, Armor of God Challenge Coins.
Mom and dad and two young children. This past week the dad told me about his son's first day of school. His 5 year old son who received two coins, one in a display case for his bedroom shelf and one coin to just have and play with, was nervous about his first day of school. The little boy was nervous but had a special request for his dad the night before his first day of school. The little boy wanted his dad to make sure that in the morning the pants he wore to school had front pockets. The dad said “ok” but “why”. The young son told his dad that he wanted to take his Armor of God coin with him to school. The boy's mom recently told me that her son takes his Armor of God coin to school every day and when he gets nervous he reaches for it and says a quick prayer to Jesus.
It was a heartwarming story that reminded me of the power of simple faith. We put a lot of effort into helping people recover from their struggles, but we must also teach children about Jesus's love and sufficiency from a young age.
Educating children about the realities of temptations, peer pressure, and the influence of evil is crucial. We must teach them that these challenges will be a part of their lives, but that God has provided armor for them to stand strong and overcome these battles.
By instilling in them the knowledge that they can gear up with the Armor of God, we empower children to have victories over the many obstacles they may face. It's essential to equip them with the understanding that they are not alone in their struggles and that God's love and protection will guide them through every challenge they encounter. This is why this web site has a "kids" page. Check it out!
This is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
We all need pockets!
