Was it a Coincidence or is our God Sovereign?

One of the wonderful things I get to witness and hear about in working with the Armor of God Coin Challenge ministry are the many incredible stories about how the coins are impacting lives and reminding people that God is sovereign. Yesterday, I actually got to be part of one of these stories.

In my role of disbursing  Armor of God Challenge coins across North  America and now to lands far beyond, I get to read all the requests for coins. Yesterday I received a request for  coins from Michael  in Ontario Canada. He is a leader of a Men’s  Christian group called “The Grand River Band of Brothers”,  located in Branford Ontario Canada.  He is hosting a retreat in about a week for  50 plus men plus leaders.  When I read the letter I felt disappointed because I know that it often takes more that 7 days for a box of coins to clear customs and reach the party in Canada ( coins are mailed from the USA).

So I called Michael and introduced myself and informed him that even if I mailed coins today, they would not arrive in time as customs would hold them up a bit. I asked him how many coins he needed.  He was specific. He needed 17 coins for each of the 17 leader.  He wanted to give each Leader the “Challenge” prior to the event.

I told him that I would get back to him.  I had an idea.  I started calling friends and family members in Canada to see who had extra coins.  The first person was Mom. She had 3. The second person I called was not available.  (I’m not giving up) … The third person I called was my cousin Sandy. I thought that it was a long shot, as she answered her phone… I explained my need for coins in Canada and to have them mailed/delivered quickly. I asked her if she had coins that she could spare. “Let me check” was the answer.  She came back to the phone and started counting. out loud… “1, 2, 3,4 ….14,15,16 and... 17.. I have 17 coins where do you need them?” I was shocked. She had the exact number that Michael requested ...17. I created a 3 way phone conference with Michael and Sandy and my Dear Wonderful  Amazing cousin agreed to drive the coins to Michael’s house on Friday so that 17 Leaders of the Grand River Band of Brothers can be given 17 Armor of God Challenge coins and  take the "Challenge” and be better equipped to lead the 50 plus men during their weekend event.   Thank you Sandy for your heart and your efforts and thank you God for again demonstrating your sovereignty.
